Giving back to our communities is something we are passionate about at SevenLiving and, over the past 12 months, we have been honoured to assist some of our frontline workers in the NHS throughout periods of isolation.
When the pandemic struck and we entered into our first lockdown in March 2020, like most other sectors, ours too took a hit due to the uncertainty of everything at that point. Thankfully we were able to adapt quickly; as a tech-based, hospitality-oriented organisation we could offer private, Covid-safe and contact-free rentals when restrictions allowed, allowing peace of mind for anyone in need of accommodation but wary of using any shared services or utilities.
The real benefit of our operation during this period, was that it made us fortunate enough to be in a position where we could offer some form of help to the NHS workers on the frontline, who were literally putting their own lives on the line to save the lives of others during the height of this terrible pandemic.
Our contact-less check-in and 24/7 digital service operation – with access granted by key drop-boxes – meant that we were able to offer isolating NHS workers free, comfortable accommodation in a number of towns and cities across the UK without any need for human interaction – vital for NHS workers needing to self-isolate.
The properties provided came fully furnished, including high speed wi-fi, internet TV, cooking utensils, plus linens and towels, to ensure as welcoming a stay as possible.
With the UK’s lockdowns now hopefully coming to an end, we are pleased to have been able to help out a small number of staff and a total of 605 complementary nights’ accommodation – a small contribution but one that we hope went some way in making a few peoples lives easier and more comfortable during a difficult period.
Looking to the rest of 2021 and beyond, we look forward to welcoming guests to enjoy a relaxing stay in a home away from home, and should anyone still be nervous about contact, we will be happy to accommodate.
